Shoutout to... Elder Harvath - April 29, 2019

Hey squadron,

Well, transfers happened. We were pretty sad that the boys were gonna get split up. We will forever remember the transfer for the Boys. 

However, my man Elder Harvath is now my Zone Leader and I'm so pleased. Shoutouts for days. Also my new district leader, Elder Webb is related to a Dallin Webb who worked at camp with me. Small world.

Anyway, in terms of the week things have been going super well, I love Ankeny so much. We're working with two super solid people here, Keira and John, who are both going to be baptized in May. Things are going so great with them. We committed John to do some things that are going to be pretty hard for him. The amazing thing is that because the spirit told him to be baptized on the 25th before we extended that date, he knows that God will provide a way for him to overcome his obstacles. SO MUCH FAITH.

Then we had transfers. My new comp is elder koyle, he's a stud. Some of my favorite people went home this week. It never gets easier to say goodbye. S/o to Elder Matthews, Hna Pearson, Hna Davis, and Sis Blake.

Elder Koyle and I got to help with a service project at the local church camp, we built some trails and it made me so trunky. I never thought I'd miss laying gravel, but I definitely did. 

Anyway, I love you all! Keep on keeping on!

Our zone motto this transfer is No MOBP'S. That stands for, "missed out on a big play". Like in sports the plays that change the game, the big ones, require the most involvement and dedication. In the grand contest of missionary work, we are privileged to participate in many big plays, and this week has been full of those.  Brothers and Sisters, I can honestly say that there is no more rewarding experience than working for the salvation of others and finding yourself in the right place at the right time, as God calls a play that will change someones entire life. What an honor to be a part of this great work of Salvation. I am so thankful for the opportunity to be a missionary, I love it more than anything in the world. That all being said, this week was great! SO.MUCH.SNOW.

Hello all you beautiful people!  This week has been pretty gnarly. I've honestly been reminded a lot of the year at camp when we got snowed in. Just like that week, we've had to shovel ourselves out almost every day. It's been pretty exciting. :D  Monday was pretty crazy. We drove to Ames for p-day, but while we were here a really bad storm hit, and they wouldn't let us drive home, due to a 80-something car pileup. Super scary. So we impromptu stayed the night in the tiny Boone apt with 6 missionaries. Good times.  Tuesday  we were able to drive home, I drove, since my comp is from Arizona and doesn't even know how to walk in the snow. (jk, he's super cool). We got home, had a lesson with Randy, and then the Boone Elders came to Carroll for an exchange. Just Chilling in Cedar Rapids-Sept. 10, 2018

This week has been wonderful! So crazy.  On Tuesday, we had exchanges with the fourth ward, and we had a riot. Cool experience that day, we were trying and trying to just eat dinner, but things kept getting in the way, and we kept finding people to teach, so our priorities were against eating. Anyway, after a baptism that night for the YSA, we decided to go to Wendy's. Right when we got out of the car, late at night, starving and just wanting to eat, a couple guys flagged us down and we had an amazing lesson with them. I love being about the Lord's work, and being able to put my desires aside to do the things he would have me do. Wednesday was interviews! That was crazy. We had interviews in Iowa City in the morning and then had to bomb it up to Cedar Rapids in the middle of the storm for interviews in the afternoon. Very long day.
