Freight Train-May 21
This week felt like a train ran me over. Definitely ready to start a new week.
Well, last week you might have noticed that we emailed super late, which was due to an adventure we took. We went mushroom hunting with some members...
Little did we know what that would entail...
After 4 hours of traipsing through rose bushes, poison ivy, oak, sumac, and being covered in ticks, and only finding a small bag of these things, we were pretty frustrated to say the least.
After two more hours of scrubbing everything down in dish soap, we were ready to kill something.
We went to bed as soon as possible that day.
The nest day (tuesday) we had exchanges with Centerville (who we went hunting with) and Elder Clayson and I walked all over Centerville, it was great! We were a little sore and salty still, but things were on the up and up.
Then we had dinner with the member. INCREDIBLE. Easily the best food I've eaten on my mission. The mushrooms were out of this world. If you ever have a chance to eat morel mushrooms, do it. He also made us bacon wrapped asparagus, jalapeno poppers, and a bunch of other delicious meat, topped off with an upside down caramel pecan apple pie... 'Nough said.
Wednesday was one of two days we spent in our area, and we had it loaded with stuff... None of which went according to plan. It was a good day though. We were able to make some plans with the Branch President to boost member work in the area, so it was good. Because of the chaos of the week, I ended up staying up to finish my training for district meeting. Long, good day.
Thursday was awesome. We had the last district meeting of the transfer, which is so sad. I love this district, and this transfer went way to fast... It was a great time. Afterwords we went to Indianola for another exchange with the Zone Leaders. It was good fun. On Thursdays they play basketball with a bunch of people at the high school Elder Harrison Fuller is my favorite.(editor's note: Elder Fuller slipped this phrase in while Jordan was out of the room..they are constantly playing pranks on each other!) Wow, that was the best ball I've probably ever had. I was exhausted.
Friday we finished the exchange and weekly planning. Not much to report.
Saturday was spent in lessons and trying to get people to church. I was also speaking in church, so I stayed up again to finish that, cause we ran out of time. Fun stuff.
Sunday was wonderful. I love speaking. We were also able to teach a class with the branch on how they can support us and do missionary work using facebook. It was neat.
Anyway, that's this week! Transfers are this week, so please hold mail for a minute. I doubt I'll be leaving, but we'll see!
Love you all!
