...To Lenox...



Well folks, This week was crazy, with transfers and all. I don't have a ton of time to email, so we'll make this the cliffnotes version. 

Monday was exchanges in Boone for transfer calls. We found a bridge, and as usual I found myself having climbed it before I knew what had happened. Pics included. 

Tuesday was transfer calls. I got sent to Lenox, which is the southwest corner of the mission, to be with Elder Fuller! He's my favorite. Super funny guy. Elder Alton stayed in Carroll, Elder Mather stayed in Boone, and Elder Littlefield went to QUINCY!!! I'm jealous, to say the least. 

Wednesday was super p-day. We went to Ledges State Park with the Boone goons, to see the "canyon" in Iowa.I included some pics, see if you can find a canyon, I sure can't. 

Thursday was transfers! Got to Creston, where we live in a little cottage, and went to help some people move. Good times. 

Friday was district meeting in Osceola. I decided to mix up the typical get to know you district meeting, and made a big competition instead. Easily the funnest d-meet I've had. 

Saturday was spent planning and meeting with a few people. 

Sunday was nuts though! So, we meet in a house the church bought and redid, and it was branch conference, so we very much exceeded capacity. It was a great meeting though! 

Now we're here! I wrote a poem, but I left the book at home. I'll send it another time.

Our zone motto this transfer is No MOBP'S. That stands for, "missed out on a big play". Like in sports the plays that change the game, the big ones, require the most involvement and dedication. In the grand contest of missionary work, we are privileged to participate in many big plays, and this week has been full of those.  Brothers and Sisters, I can honestly say that there is no more rewarding experience than working for the salvation of others and finding yourself in the right place at the right time, as God calls a play that will change someones entire life. What an honor to be a part of this great work of Salvation. I am so thankful for the opportunity to be a missionary, I love it more than anything in the world. That all being said, this week was great! SO.MUCH.SNOW.

Hello all you beautiful people!  This week has been pretty gnarly. I've honestly been reminded a lot of the year at camp when we got snowed in. Just like that week, we've had to shovel ourselves out almost every day. It's been pretty exciting. :D  Monday was pretty crazy. We drove to Ames for p-day, but while we were here a really bad storm hit, and they wouldn't let us drive home, due to a 80-something car pileup. Super scary. So we impromptu stayed the night in the tiny Boone apt with 6 missionaries. Good times.  Tuesday  we were able to drive home, I drove, since my comp is from Arizona and doesn't even know how to walk in the snow. (jk, he's super cool). We got home, had a lesson with Randy, and then the Boone Elders came to Carroll for an exchange. Just Chilling in Cedar Rapids-Sept. 10, 2018

This week has been wonderful! So crazy.  On Tuesday, we had exchanges with the fourth ward, and we had a riot. Cool experience that day, we were trying and trying to just eat dinner, but things kept getting in the way, and we kept finding people to teach, so our priorities were against eating. Anyway, after a baptism that night for the YSA, we decided to go to Wendy's. Right when we got out of the car, late at night, starving and just wanting to eat, a couple guys flagged us down and we had an amazing lesson with them. I love being about the Lord's work, and being able to put my desires aside to do the things he would have me do. Wednesday was interviews! That was crazy. We had interviews in Iowa City in the morning and then had to bomb it up to Cedar Rapids in the middle of the storm for interviews in the afternoon. Very long day.
