Went to Prom.... April 15, 2019

Just kidding! Everyone else in Ankeny did though... Literally no one was home. Almost as bad as IC on game day, just with less alcohol. Some members did so a cool breakfast after After-Prom, and we got the leftovers. So we did actually go to after after After-Prom, which still counts a bit I guess.

Anyway, hopefully that subject line got y'all to open this email, now you just gotta keep reading.

Its been a good week though! We definitely saw some miracles and got to see eachother at Zone conference on Tuesday. S/o to all my people, especially Sister Longson and Sister Butcher for the awesome training they gave (see the miracle below from using the words of Christ, that's what they trained on.), and even s/o to you Elder Harvath. Also s/o to my man Elder C. Clark for being the new AP, you'll still always be jealous.

Ok, let me tell you about some miracles. So we've been trying to meet with this one guy, John, for a month now. We had one super good lesson with him right when I got here. But he's super busy, and had to cancel three weeks in a row. Really frustrating. This guy has so much potential though, so we were persistent.

Anyway, fast forward to this Thursday. We finally have a lesson with him. We walk in. He seems a little distant and preoccupied with something. It becomes apparent that he's very interested in this little document he has printed off. By all counts it looks like he's been anti-ed. I was not excited.

As we start talking however, he starts to mention things he's been reading and watching. He casually mentions something about conference... And something about Alma chapter 40 (which is what he had printed out and taken copious notes on)... And something about the restoration movie and the first vision... He was doing it all on his own for the last three weeks, even though he had to cancel!

Even more incredible, as we started the lesson, we decided to follow the counsel of Elder Taylor and let the Christ extend the invitations by reading his words. We set the stage, and started reading 3 Nephi 11. At the conclusion, we asked if he would be baptized on May 25th.

THIS IS THE MIRACLE. Before we had even gotten the words out of our mouths, he almost shouted, "yes I will". He then told us that as we were reading the impression came over him that he needed to be baptized.

And thus we see, that "the Holy Ghost beareth record of the Father and [Christ], and [Christ] bear[s] record that the Father commandeth all men, everywhere, to repent and believe in [Christ]. And whoso believeth in [Christ], and is baptized, the same shall be saved." - 3 Nephi 11: 32-33

Anyway, he came to church and is actively preparing for his baptism, as is Keira. Things are going so well. I love being a missionary.

Godspeed.
