The Atonement of Jesus Christ - April 22, 2019

Image
Hey friends and family, happy Easter! It's been a great week! Lots of good memories. Pretty much everyone canceled on us this week, so there's not much to report. With Easter this week, I had the chance to study Christ's resurrection and Atonement. I love my Savior, and as I took time to read all the topical guide scriptures about the the resurrection and Atonement I gained a deeper appreciation for His sacrifice then I ever have. I'd encourage you to read those scriptures as well. It will bless your life. Anyway, I hope you all have a great week! Transfers are this week, so that'll be exciting. Love you all!  Godspeed.  Elder Housholder  Pics: 1. Tennis with the Bois  2. With Roxie and Jeff 3. Squad 4. Randy with the Bois  5. Iowa with the Bois 6. Cooking with the Bois 7. Went to Prom.... April 15, 2019

Image
Just kidding! Everyone else in Ankeny did though... Literally no one was home. Almost as bad as IC on game day, just with less alcohol. Some members did so a cool breakfast after After-Prom, and we got the leftovers. So we did actually go to after after After-Prom, which still counts a bit I guess. Anyway, hopefully that subject line got y'all to open this email, now you just gotta keep reading.  Its been a good week though! We definitely saw some miracles and got to see eachother at Zone conference on Tuesday. S/o to all my people, especially Sister Longson and Sister Butcher for the awesome training they gave (see the miracle below from using the words of Christ, that's what they trained on.), and even s/o to you Elder Harvath. Also s/o to my man Elder C. Clark for being the new AP, you'll still always be jealous.  Ok, let me tell you about some miracles. So we've been trying to meet with this one guy, John, for a month now. We had one super good lesson wi...

Become New Creatures in Christ - April 8, 2019

Hello friends, family, and Elder Harvath. Its been a great week. Lots of miracles. Kierra is on date to be dunked on April 27th. We're pumped.  Conference was amazing! I hope you all took the time to watch it. While a lot of people might be frustrated with the lack of changes in the church, I hope you recognized the message that WE need to change. WE need to become new creatures. I hope you'll all take that invitation from our Savior, it will bless your life. In other news, I wrecked my bike. It was fun. We also got to go to the mission home for conference, which was lit. Shoutout to Elder Buke and Sister Longson. So good to be reunited. Anyway, it's 80 degrees outside, sunny, and I'm not in the mood to write anymore. Love y'all!  Godspeed. Elder Housholder  Pics:  1.BeBaCue with the Bois ft. Swimming....On a Bike - April 1, 2019

Good morning beautiful humans. First off, I just want give a huge shoutout to spring (and e. Harvath for that matter). I'm currently sitting on the porch, listening to the birds, and just drinking in the beautiful Iowa morning. God is so good folks. Also, a squirrel just ran across my foot. This week has been pretty great here in Ankeny. The people are starting to emerge from their hibernation, and that means that missionary is about to get real again. Can't wait. A couple highlights this week. On Thursday we were scheduling visits and meeting with the church leaders as well as preparing some lessons to seek referrals from members. It was an awesome morning, and we really received a lot of inspiration. It was awesome. Having done that, we only had an hour before our lessons started. So we walked toward the apartments we planned to knock, and felt impressed to knock on a building that seemed totally abandoned.  There were two doors, we knocked the first one, found a ...

Get That Bread - March 25, 2019

Image
Aye folks. Its been a legit week. Ankeny is the place to be, the members are incredible, the missionaries are nearby, and the work has been progressing quickly. Life is real good. However, there has been one terribly frustrating thing about this area that I haven't had to deal with before... Car shares. Never in my life have I experienced something that wastes as much time, or is as ineffective as sharing a car with other missionaries. I was starting to go crazy.  So, taking things into my own hands, I procured several bikes. Then, using the wonderful skills from my paperboy days, fixed them up. Our mission now has a biking area folks. I've been loving it so far. Elder Hunsaker is working on being as enthused as I am.  Also, I don't know if I've ever told you all about Fufu before. I know the missionaries on here are very aware (@ E. Harvath) but for the rest of you, I'd like to explain what is currently sitting in my stomach. Fufu is an ...
