Pictures and a Thought- February 18, 2019

Good morning everyone!

Due to the change this Friday, allowing us to call our families weekly, I'm going to be revising my weekly emails. If you would like additional details and are not my family, please email me personally, I have a little more time to reply now. 

As far as this week goes, it was great! As usual, it flew by, but we had fun while we were cruising.

The spiritual highlight of the week was on exchanges this last Wednesday. It was too cold to knock outside, and we'd exhausted all the indoor apartments we could think of, so we had no clue where to go finding. So Elder Billiter suggested that we pray about it! (who would've thought!) As we finished the prayer, i felt the distinct impression to go to some locked apartments in a particular part of town. I suppressed the prompting for a bit, thinking that it was silly and that we'd tried that before, but no one else was feeling anything, so I finally chimed in.

You might think that the doors were going to be miraculously unlocked, or we'd meet a super prepared person outside, but we didn't. Instead, as we tried to make our way over there, we went down a road we have never been down, and found an apartment complex we had never seen before, with literally hundreds of unlocked apartments. We proceeded to find 12 people in a little over an hour. 

Brothers and Sisters, strive to gain access to revelation. Because when God gives us direction, that means there is a reason, and if we can recognize revelation, we can then recognize miracles.

Big Plays - June 3, 2019

Our zone motto this transfer is No MOBP'S. That stands for, "missed out on a big play". Like in sports the plays that change the game, the big ones, require the most involvement and dedication. In the grand contest of missionary work, we are privileged to participate in many big plays, and this week has been full of those.  Brothers and Sisters, I can honestly say that there is no more rewarding experience than working for the salvation of others and finding yourself in the right place at the right time, as God calls a play that will change someones entire life. What an honor to be a part of this great work of Salvation. I am so thankful for the opportunity to be a missionary, I love it more than anything in the world. SO.MUCH.SNOW.

Hello all you beautiful people!  This week has been pretty gnarly. I've honestly been reminded a lot of the year at camp when we got snowed in. Just like that week, we've had to shovel ourselves out almost every day. It's been pretty exciting. :D  Monday was pretty crazy. We drove to Ames for p-day, but while we were here a really bad storm hit, and they wouldn't let us drive home, due to a 80-something car pileup. Super scary. So we impromptu stayed the night in the tiny Boone apt with 6 missionaries. Good times.  Tuesday  we were able to drive home, I drove, since my comp is from Arizona and doesn't even know how to walk in the snow. (jk, he's super cool). We got home, had a lesson with Randy, and then the Boone Elders came to Carroll for an exchange. Just Chilling in Cedar Rapids-Sept. 10, 2018

This week has been wonderful! So crazy.  On Tuesday, we had exchanges with the fourth ward, and we had a riot. Cool experience that day, we were trying and trying to just eat dinner, but things kept getting in the way, and we kept finding people to teach, so our priorities were against eating. Anyway, after a baptism that night for the YSA, we decided to go to Wendy's. Right when we got out of the car, late at night, starving and just wanting to eat, a couple guys flagged us down and we had an amazing lesson with them. I love being about the Lord's work, and being able to put my desires aside to do the things he would have me do. Wednesday was interviews! That was crazy. We had interviews in Iowa City in the morning and then had to bomb it up to Cedar Rapids in the middle of the storm for interviews in the afternoon. Very long day.
