Blessed. - December 3, 2018
Those of you who have served around Elder Rutledge will get the double meaning to that subject.
But for the rest of you, this really has been a blessed week. Definitely one of the best weeks of my mission.
For starters, we were able to go to Cedar Rapids for p-day last week. Saw my bois Elder Harvath and Elder Hebbert, s/o. I'm still not getting Elder Harvaths emails though, so that's depressing. (cough, cough)
Anyway, Tuesday and Wednesday were also great. We had exchanges with the YSA Elders, and I was with my grandson, Elder Q. Fuller. Holy cow. I haven't had an EXCHANGE that lit since I was with my bois McCain and May. Tuesday was sick, we knocked on this one door, and talked to this girl from Puerto Rico and then this Hispanic guy and this Asian girl showed us and invited us in, and seriously so many people of different ethnicity's kept walking through this little apartment. It was crazy.
We also decided to try bus contacting for the first time on my mission. Literally that is my new favorite way to go finding. These college kids just come sit by you and are literally trapped there just long enough to have a decent conversation. It's the greatest. Too bad I'm not serving in the YSA. It was a riot.
But Wednesday was crazy. We wrapped up our exchange, and the other companionship fell asleep during their 5 for 5 evaluation....
So we decided to go on an adventure. Muahahahaha....
Since we only had one car, we left it with them and decided to walk to Coralville, which was quite a distance. Then we had to get back in time for Audrie's interview. So we walked a lot. Got lost in a forest. Found the park where the handcart companies started from. Managed to get back to the church. It was great! Audrie passed though! And then we made Christmas goodies as a zone. Such a great day.
This weekend was crazy though. It's always a whirlwind to get a baptism to work. But it went super well. Her husband, who we recently reactivated, was able to baptize her. Then on Sunday Audrie received the Holy Ghost, and we blessed three of their children. It was magnificent! Now we're just working with their oldest daughter, who has been talking about baptism a lot. She told us that she has somthing important to tell us tomorrow, so please pray that she'll decide to be baptized!
Yeah, life it great! Every day I just fall more and more in love with my mission. This is definitely the best decision I've ever made. If you're considering a mission, just do it.
I love you all! Godspeed!
