Just Chilling in Cedar Rapids-Sept. 10, 2018
This week has been wonderful! So crazy.
On Tuesday, we had exchanges with the fourth ward, and we had a riot. Cool experience that day, we were trying and trying to just eat dinner, but things kept getting in the way, and we kept finding people to teach, so our priorities were against eating. Anyway, after a baptism that night for the YSA, we decided to go to Wendy's. Right when we got out of the car, late at night, starving and just wanting to eat, a couple guys flagged us down and we had an amazing lesson with them. I love being about the Lord's work, and being able to put my desires aside to do the things he would have me do.
Wednesday was interviews! That was crazy. We had interviews in Iowa City in the morning and then had to bomb it up to Cedar Rapids in the middle of the storm for interviews in the afternoon. Very long day. But Elder Tinsley was so kind and bought me dinner for my birthday. Shout out.
Thursday! Also known as my 21st birthday! We had fun. There are these Hawkeye statues all around town called Herkeys, so we took a bunch of pictures with them. Good times.
Friday we had exchanges in Cedar Rapids! I was with elder Cox, and we were just chilling. It was a riot, and we took lots of cool pictures. It's so crazy to me when I realize that I'm not a new missionary anymore. It's pretty crazy, and overwhelming to realize how much these other missionaries look up to me, I still feel like a chicken with his head cut off, and have no clue what I'm doing. But missionary work is wonderful, and I love this time to serve the Lord.
The weekend flew by, and now it's p day again. This week I'll hit 14 months, which is so unreal. Time really does fly on wings of lightning, and you can't call it back. Remember to enjoy the moment you're in, make the best of it, and strive to do what the Lord would have you do. As I've strived to follow that formula, I have found so much happiness and joy. Far more than I ever imagined before serving a mission.
I love you all, stay classy, Godspeed!
