The Bold, The Persistent, The Successful! - Aug. 13, 2018

Well, hello again!

Time just keeps flying! Transfers are this week, we'll find out everything tomorrow (please hold mail till you hear the news). I cannot believe how fast this one went. I've really grown a lot this transfer though, last transfer I just wanted to leave Lenox SO BAD, but I stayed. Now I just want to stay. I've learned a lot of what it means to be consecrated in these last few weeks, and it's amazing how much I've come to love this place as I've thrown myself entirely into the work. I love being a missionary.

This week has also been one of the coolest of my mission. I've been more acutely aware of the guidance of the Holy Ghost in my work this week, and we've seen miracles on top of miracles come from heeding that guidance!

At the beginning of the week, as I was preparing for our district council, I began feeling very strongly what I needed to train on. I was amazed at how that training simply came together. As such, I was super excited to give the training, just to see how it would impact the district. I had no clue how much it would actually do. The Spirit is so cool.

So we had District Council, and it was definitely my favorite one ever.
We talked about our comfort zones, about how miracles are usually outside our comfort zones, and therefore we need faith to perform those miracles. We then read about Abinadi, and talked about how the two most important ways to get out of our comfort zones and into the miracle zone, is by being bold and persistent missionaries. It was so powerful as we discussed those times we hadn't been as bold or as persistent as we might have, and how we could do better.

(Also, afterwards we went to the super hole-in-the-wall mexican place and I had a huge Beef Tongue burrito. So good.)

Then the miracles started! We blitzed Osceola! Which means that we brought in 3 extra companionship, and did a massive knocking exchange for the rest of the day. We were all so fired up from the training! So many miracles. After two hours, we'd collectively found 14 people to teach. It was so lit.

Then the Zone leaders (who were on exchanges with us for the blitz) came back to Lenox for the night and for an exchange in our area the following day. That was a good time. DJ made us all ribs for breakfast... SO GOOD! Anyway, Elder Matthews and I were together, and we had some great times out knocking. He's a stud. We had a really cool experience with being persistent.

We were knocking in this trailer park. Knocked on this one door, and the guy said he was agnostic. Now, I've never had a successful lesson start like that, but we were being persistent! So, we kept teaching, and as we did, the Spirit put a thought into my head that was a lot deeper and more complicated than I'd EVER share on the doorstep. I shared it anyway (Elder Matthews was looking at me like I was a lunatic). Lo and behold, his wife popped around the corner! She was like, "Wow, I don't ever listen to church stuff, but that made so much sense!" S/o to the Spirit on that one! They're both down to come to church now, and to find God. It was so cool.

So yeah, this week was pretty fantastic! I'm excited to see what this week holds! I love being engaged in the work of Salvation. I know this is the church and gospel of Jesus Christ. I know that by the Holy Ghost. I testify that Christ is leading and directing this work. I know the Book of Mormon to be the word of the Lord, and it has been such a blessing to me as I have studied it daily. I'm so grateful for the restoration and the way in which we are led by revelation through Prophets of God.

Thank you all for all you do for me. I love you all!

Godspeed!
