Lots of Lemonade and Less Listeners...-July 2
Hello again! The corn keeps getting taller, and time keeps moving faster! Two years is not as long as it sounds, at least it hasn't been this last year.
This week has been a great one! We had a lot of time with other missionaries, and did some unique things, but a day by day description of this week would be pretty boring. I'll spare you the monotony.
We had district p-day again, which was a riot! Think mud, hammocks, frisbee, and a wheelchair. Good times.
Following pday, things got super crazy. We had two exchanges in a row, which was nuts, but also super fun! In keeping with our theme of creative finding this transfer, we made a lemonade stand, a bunch of signs, and jumped up and down, offering people free lemonade and copies of the Book of Mormon. We didn't have a ton of people pull over, but we did get a ton of "honks for Jesus". It was a good time!
They went home, we got ready for the next exchange in the morning, and headed to Indianola! There was so much to do up there, and so little time to do it, it was crazy. The highlight was getting to teach a couple recent converts about family history work, and playing racquetball for morning exercise.
We went straight to district meeting afterwards, which was typically great. It was strange to think that this is possibly my last district meeting I'll be leading, and it was sad to realize that these people were not going to be here next week. I don't deal with endings well.
The weekend was fun, but unfruitful. Sometimes missionary work is pushing on a boulder, even if it doesn't ever move, simply because we're commanded to. That's what the last few weeks have felt like. It's been neat to watch the growth I've seen in myself though. I love missionary work!
We had a fun time on Saturday though! Creston threw a massive throwback party downtown, everybody brought out their old cars and went "cruising". There was a band playing some oldies, lots of drunk bikers, and two missionaries preaching repentance. The people were more interested in the cars than our message, and then a massive storm rolled in out of nowhere and ruined the party. It was a good time though!
That's this week in a nutshell! Transfers are this Thursday, and based on our hints, I'm pretty sure I'm going to Indianola actually, so not too far! We'll keep you posted!
Sorry that most of the pics are of Elder Fuller this time. I was behind the camera.
Elder Housholder
(Editor's note: He's staying in Creston! So continue using the Creston address located on this blog for another transfer.)
