It's so Green! - June 18, 2018
Hello friends and family! The corn is about 3 feet tall. I'm still a missionary. Today is p-day. Life is great!
I am frequently blown away how green it is here, and how many kinds of green there are! Y'all know that I used to make fun of the midwest, and how boring it must be... And it definitely is boring, but that doesn't mean it isn't beautiful! I love it!
This week was quite an adventure!
We were in Waukee for p-day and had a riot. Elder Fuller and I made shirts for everyone, it was great! Then we were able to have supper with the Drummonds in Des Moines before heading home. I just love them!
On the way home we got caught in a knarly storm. The lightning in Iowa usually stays in the clouds, and just looks really cool up there. Not so this time. Add to that a torrential downpour with the greenest sky I've ever seen. We were scared. Thank goodness for prayer. We are still alive.
Tuesday was great! I tried to make a training, but it wasn't coming... I was stubborn though, and tried to make something work. It was a mess. That evening though, both the Zone leaders and the stls mentioned a topic I could train on. Interesting how that worked out...
But we did have supper with DJ on Tuesday, which was great! I love them so much, I just want them to come to church!!! It was really good, as we were able to get to know his wife better.
Wednesday I spent the morning trying to make a new training... I also spent all of supper time and the evening. I finished it though!
During the day we spent some time finding, and then we decided do some undercover service for DJ, since he'd mentioned that one of his trees had blown over in the storm. So we got some saws and clippers and went to work. He got home while we were there, so he caught us... But it was a really good experience.
Thursday was district meeting, which went SO WELL! I love being able to see how these trainings come together and we end up learning exactly what we need to. It's so inspired!
Afterwards, we went to Centerville for an exchange. I was with my good friend Elder Steed, who has been in my same zone for our whole mission. I love going on exchanges with him. We had a great time.
Friday we finished up exchanges and drove the two hours home. Tried by some people.. Not much happened.
That evening we rearranged and redecorated our apartment a bit. Some pics are attached.
Saturday was weekly planning, coordination, a delicious supper with the Bloyds, and some finding. It was a good day, again though, not a lot to say about it.
Sunday was great! I've been learning a lot about love this week, and sacrament meeting really hit that one on the head. It was great. We went to visit some widows with Brother Allen after church, and did a bit of knocking. It was a really good day.
That's the week! I hope you all have an excellent week as well!
Idk what order these pics are... Computer is being weird.
Two of these are pics of the squad on P-day in their shirts. Good times.
