Well, hello!
Transfer week is always so strange. I honestly have no clue what happened on Monday, except that we were on exchanges with Centerville for transfer calls. Oh, I do remember one thing, elder Steed and I went to contact a referral (more about her later) but it turns out she lives in a egg factory compound and some lady kicked us out.
Tuesday was transfer calls. Elder Clayson and Sister Girvin were the only ones who left, to be replaced by Elder Clark and Sister Tobias. Good times.
Wednesday was super p-day in Wakee. Hermana Esplin was going home, and it was almost her birthday... So we threw a surprise party for her! It was super fun. It's always a riot, but it's also so sad to say goodbye. Yup. That night we had supper with the Finches, who live in wakee but are assigned to our branch to help it grow. That was fun, since we usually don't get to see them.
Thursday was transfers! But it was a normal day for us since we both stayed. We helped a less active clean out his garage, got ready for district meeting, and had supper with another member!
Friday was district meeting! Following the party we had last transfer, we had to have a good time... So we had a scavenger relay race! It was great. Some pictures are attached.
That evening we had set up an appointment with the aforementioned egg factory referral. Her name is Nothando, she moved from South Africa to Iowa last year and has been interning at this egg factory since. Hence the fact that she lives in the compound. Anyway, she heard about the Book of Mormon on Facebook and requested a copy and our visit. She is so awesome! After only a few minutes of talking with her, she was ready to change her schedule so she could come to church next week. We're very excited about her!
Saturday was weekly/transfer planning, so that took some time. The evening was spent being punted from person to person who were busy having memorial day barbecues... So we decided it would be effective to do some online proselyting. Hopefully it was beneficial.
Sunday was great! We had church, though nobody came cause of the holiday, and then we visited less active members with a member of the branch presidency for most of the day. It was good!
We're really excited about this transfer. A lot of changes are going to happen next transfer, and we really want to make sure we're on our best game leading up to it. I'm so grateful to be able to serve a mission. I love it!
