Time Moves with Wings of Lightning
Hey fam!
Well, today marks 8 months! I can't believe that 1/3 of mission is over... Sometimes is still feels like I'm preparing for my mission, like it's something that will happen at some point in the future. But like one of my favorite songs says, " life is just happening". It appears that my mission is something that will happen, with or without my full involvement. It's days like today that make me realize how fleeting this opportunity is, and how I need to work harder.
ANYWAY! This week was so crazy. By the end of the week we'd had all of 2-3 hours to work in our own area. It was nuts.
Monday was p-day followed by an exchange in Boone. We had a crazy good time, those goons in Boone are hilarious. I was also able to teach their all-star investigator, who's name is also Jordan! He's pretty awesome, we're super excited for him!
Tuesday night we got back from our exchange late, so that day was shot.
Wednesday was another exchange! (oh, I'm in my element!) So we left right after studies and headed to Ft. Dodge for an exchange with Elder McCain! Man, that was a riot. Due to our wonderful lack of driving privileges, he and I walked all over that town. It was a super great way to jump-start this transfer and get myself pumped to work super hard. It was great.
So Thursday after lunch we ended the exchange and headed home. That afternoon was the first knocking we'd done in Carroll since Elder Alton arrived. It was super great! Within an hour we had found an awesome new investigator named Wendy. We're excited to teach her more when she gets back from Texas (Why is everyone going to Texas?). It was a great day!
Then we had to go back to Ft Dodge on Friday morning for interviews. It was great, but interviews in the FD zone take like 8 hours. So that wrecked that day.
The weekend was also super busy with planning and a bunch of member interactions. We had the best member dinner ever on Saturday. I'm so scared about the number of calories I consumed this weekend... Yikes.
So yeah! That's the week in a nutshell! We're still talking to Jenny, but weren't able to meet with her this week, but hopefully we'll have a lesson with her this week. Please continue to keep her in your prayers, they're working!
Here's a poem.
Law.
Rules, Promises.
Clarifying, Commanding, Condemning.
Exacting Justice Through Christ's Peaceful Mercy,
Purifying, Practicing, Perfecting.
Light, Life.
Love.
Yep. Those are my thoughts this week. For more on this topic, see Elder Holland's, "Be Ye Therefore Perfect... Eventually"
I love you all! Hope you all have an incredible week!
