TECHNOLOGY!
Hello people.
The most important thing that happened this week is found in the title. We have found out we are getting technology in the upcoming months. I'm pumped. We think it might be because of the boundary changes happening in July. We're going to be acquiring the Peoria Illinois Stake from the Chicago West Mission, which probably has tech. So yeah, in a few short months I will have a smartphone once again! Good times.
As far as this week goes, it was really fun and satisfying!
Monday was a stellar p-day which concluded with an exchange in Boone. We had a pretty radical time. On Tuesday Elder Littlefield and I hit the streets and taught some awesome lessons up here in Boone. It's always a good time!
Wednesday was pretty average. We had a lesson with my man Randy, and he should be going to the temple in the next couple weeks. I'm excited for him.
Thursday was pretty cool! We had district meeting in the morning, and due to miles we had a kind lady from our ward, Sister Miller, drive us. That was definitely an experience (I'm looking at you Elder Judy, Elder Broby). Once we got back, we went on a powerhour with a recently reactivated member, Brother Coffins. That was a really great experience. It's cool to see how missionary work blesses members. He's never been so excited about the gospel as he was after that. He couldn't stop talking about it at church, and we've just found out that he's inviting people to FHE of his own accord now! Miracles happen!
Friday we gave service and did weekly planning. Near the end of the day we got freezing rain, which I despise. That killed the day.
Then it was Saturday. Saturday was one of the coolest days I've had so far. We woke up, had a great morning, and I was halfway through breakfast before I looked outside. Snow. Ice. Sadness. There's nothing that saps your desire to work more that sadness. Nothing brings me more sadness than snow and ice.
But, determined to make the best of it, even though we weren't really supposed to go out, we called every former investigator in our area book. We actually found someone who agreed to be taught again, watch conference, be baptized, and everything! OVER THE PHONE! In order for someone to be a new investigator though, all those things must happen with a prayer as well... So I got to pray over the phone with someone I've never met. It was weird. Cool, but weird. Later, we had an appointment with our investigator Wendy, and lo and behold, her husband came! That was a total miracle! They are both super grounded in their church, but very open to learning. We'll see if they progress. But he is also a new investigator. Later an appointment fell through, resulting in us finding in their apartments. Once again we were blessed with a miracle, and there was John! He's a stellar guy, tried to come to church yesterday. He didn't make it, but we're teaching him tonight! More miracles.
Sunday was a little disappointing, as no one came to church, but that definitely taught me a bit about agency. It is very satisfying to know that you did all you could to help someone, even if they choose something else.
Yep, that's my week! I'm sorry, but I failed to write a poem this week. I'll try to make it up to y'all.
Hope you have a phenomenal week! Watch conference, bring questions, pray about it. You'll be blessed as you do so!
I love you all, Godspeed!
