But a Small Moment
Hello everybody!
I hope your week as been as great as mine has been, but hopefully yours has been warmer. ;P
Now that the holidays are all finished, people are finally starting to listen to us again! It's awesome! But also due to the end on the holidays, there's not a lot of unique things to say about this week. I'll do my best though.
Last Tuesday we did a lot of finding. It was ridiculously cold though, so not a lot of people listened to us. But at the end of the day, we turned onto a random road for no real reason, and there was only two houses on the whole road. We knocked on the first one, and she wouldn't even open the door. I was pretty frustrated. The other house looked much less promising, plus it was about time for dinner. I was ready to just go. But as we walked past, we made eye contact with the man inside. So we kinda had to knock. His name was Ralph, and he was very kind, but not interested. We talked with him for a little bit (just about his life and work, etc) and suddenly he asked if he could have a Book of Mormon. I've never seen someone's countenance change so quickly. The Holy Ghost can really impact people in incredible ways.
Wednesday and Thursday were pretty normal. We did find out of the passing of President Monson, which was a pretty surreal experience. I've been trying to listen to all of his messages while serving as president, and it's been an amazing experience. I truly believe that he was a prophet.
Thursday night we drove to Fairfield to spend the night before Zone Conference in Iowa City. We had a super weird micro-blizzard on the way, so that was super exciting.
Zone conference was incredible. The messages were all very inspired, and I felt as though they were meant for me. We talked a lot about the urgency of missionary work. This week will be my six month mark, and I'll officially be 1/4 done with my mission, which is crazy. With that in mind, I was really taught about how important it is to remember the urgency of this work. There are people to bring to Christ, and not a lot of time to do it. I'm striving to focus on giving my 100% now, instead of giving almost everything.
Saturday we went on exchanges with the Zone Leaders, I was able to go with Elder Davidson. He's probably the happiest person I've ever met. We had a lot planned that day, but most of it fell through. Thankfully he's super optimistic, so that day was amazing. In the end, we found a pretty cool investigator. God never ceases to pour out His blessings on His children.
Sunday we went to church, but then had to stay inside all day, due to an ice storm. Everything was just coated in ice. It was super cool, but super scary.
That's it for this week! I hope you all have a wonderful week!

Lord, for thy spirit, now I pray,
You've taught me by the things you say,
Through thy servants, showed the way,
You've challenged me to obey.
Father, why do I struggle to decide?
Why do I argue, clinging to pride,
With a confusion I cannot describe?
Father, with my faith, please be satisfied.
Then to my mind, a voice,
Cutting through the thoughts and noise.
Show your faith, make a choice,
Obey, and watch your heart rejoice.

No pictures this week. It was way too cold for that nonsense. Sorry mom. ;P
