TECHNOLOGY!

Image
Hello people.  The most important thing that happened this week is found in the title. We have found out we are getting technology in the upcoming months. I'm pumped. We think it might be because of the boundary changes happening in July. We're going to be acquiring the Peoria Illinois Stake from the Chicago West Mission, which probably has tech. So yeah, in a few short months I will have a smartphone once again! Good times.  As far as this week goes, it was really fun and satisfying!  Monday was a stellar p-day which concluded with an exchange in Boone. We had a pretty radical time.  On Tuesday  Elder Littlefield and I hit the streets and taught some awesome lessons up here in Boone. It's always a good time!  Wednesday  was pretty average. We had a lesson with my man Randy, and he should be going to the temple in the next couple weeks. I'm excited for him.  Thursday  was pretty cool! We had district meeting in the mornin...

Obedience is it's Own Reward

Wowza. Hello again! I can't believe it's only been a week. I feel like it's been at least a month since Monday. It's been an excellent week though, even if it took forever!  Last Monday was pretty typical. Basketball, volleyball, nerf wars... Yup.  Tuesday  was a great day though! We were able to give a lot of service, started our new member lessons with Randy, and we were able to do work in Jefferson for the first time! Jefferson is about 30 minutes from Carroll, and is on the edge of our area. An awesome member family, the Coffins, invited us out there for dinner. So we went up a little early to do some finding. We had a really cool experience being led by the Spirit to someone who needed us. Missionary work is so awesome!  Wednesday  was one of the best days of my life. For starters, it was 60 degrees outside!!!! I just love spring! We had to head to Boone in the afternoon, so we really only had 3 hours to work. It would've been really easy to ...

Time Moves with Wings of Lightning

Hey fam! Well, today marks 8 months! I can't believe that 1/3 of mission is over... Sometimes is still feels like I'm preparing for my mission, like it's something that will happen at some point in the future. But like one of my favorite songs says, " life is just happening". It appears that my mission is something that will happen, with or without my full involvement. It's days like today that make me realize how fleeting this opportunity is, and how I need to work harder.  ANYWAY! This week was so crazy. By the end of the week we'd had all of 2-3 hours to work in our own area. It was nuts.  Monday was p-day followed by an exchange in Boone. We had a crazy good time, those goons in Boone are hilarious. I was also able to teach their all-star investigator, who's name is also Jordan! He's pretty awesome, we're super excited for him!  Tuesday night we got back from our exchange late, so that day was shot.  Wednesday was anoth...

Dearly, Dearly, Have We Loved

Hello all you people!  This week has been so much fun! In large part because liquid water can actually exist outside now! I'm so happy the cold is starting to leave.  Anyway, it was transfers this week, which made up for the rest of the fun, but also came with its own little sadness.  Monday was transfer calls, so the Boone Elders came down for an exchange. It was a riot. Both the Boone Elders and I stayed put, and Elder Broby was transferred to Manchester Iowa (I guess that's where the field of dreams is...). And my new companion is ELDER ALTON!!! We were in the MTC together, same dorm. Super excited to serve with him!  Tuesday  was full of goodbyes and packing. Which was definitely fun. We also reconnected with JENNY!!!!!!!!! I'm ecstatic. She still didn't come to church, but we have a lesson with her this week! Progress.  Then is was Super p-day. We gathered with all the beautiful missionaries we've come to love this transfer, and pl...
