Bear With Patience Thine Afflictions, and I will Give you Success

Hello everybody!  For starters, I need to confess something very serious. I have actually started playing basketball. To make matters worse, I'm starting to enjoy it. Thanks a lot Elder McCain.  As far as my week went, it's been a rollercoaster! We had a lot of fun, but due to the holiday, we had very little time to work.  Tuesday  was AWESOME! We were able to go to the temple with Rachel and Kevin and do baptisms for the dead! They loved it, and can't wait to go back. It was such a special experience for me as well, to see them be able to do work for their ancestors, just a few weeks after they had those same odinances done themselves. It was beautiful! Wednesday  was mostly spent in Hannibal in conjuction with District meeting. The best part about that day though, was the meal the members provided for the district. The brother who cooked is actually from INDIA!!! For the first time in months I had homemade indian food!!! I've never eaten so mu...

A House of Order

Hello all you beautiful people! This week FLEW by! We expected that, but now it's p-day again, and I feel like I was just here! It's crazy stuff, time.  Tuesday  was a very unusual day, something called Apartment Appreciation Day. Basically we spent the entire day cleaning unless we had lessons scheduled prior. We hadn't scheduled anything, so the entire day was for cleaning. So much fun. You can see all the pictures. We rearranged everything, and it's really good. Still catching mice though.  While we were cleaning though, we dug through our unfinished, creepy attic. While we were exploring, we found all this SUPER old stuff up there. Among the stuff we found a crumbling newspaper dated for 1919. Crazy cool. Pics attached.  Then  on Wednesday  we had new trainers meeting! That was so fun! Five of the Elders from my MTC district (myself included) are all turnaround training, so we had a good time. It's so good to see those guys.  T...

Preaching Two by Two

Hello Friends and Fam!! Well, this week was super busy! It went by so fast!!  Monday  night, we were knocking a new part of town, trying to find a referral that Rachel gave us. No one answered, but we started knocking the rest of the area. We found this super creepy lady who looked just like the lady who turns into a snake in harry potter, she was super rude, and then she started walking her dog towards us  20 minutes later . I kinda freaked out. But we survived, and actually found a new investigator on that street! It was a good day! Tuesday  was interviews, and then the Higgins fed us a delicious dinner! I love them so much!!! But with interviews and a dinner, the whole day was shot.  Wednesday  we went on exchanges in Hannibal, and Elder Olsen and I knocked for hours. People in Missouri are so hard-hearted. It's no wonder they kicked us out. But we did meet one guy who wanted to learn more. He said he worships clowns though, so I'm not s...

The Gospel is so Beautiful!

Hello all you beautiful people!  This week was SO long, but SO amazing!  Last Monday, we didn't get to go out at all that night, because of something called Beggars night. I guess in the midwest, the kids go trick or treating on the 30th, and then halloween is when the adults all get super drunk. So both monday and  tuesday  we had to be inside or with a member after 6.  Tuesday  we were able to spend the evening with the Richards and Kody. It was super fun! Kody informed us that he told the girl he's dating that he's a Mormon. So we're super excited for him!  Tuesday  was a crazy day, so we didn't have time to knock. But as we were driving past this one house, Elder Hutchings stopped, looked at me, and said, "I've been having dreams about that door". So naturally, we got out and knocked on it. This young boy, Shawn, answered. What followed was one of the most spiritual lessons I've ever taught. I walked out of there very humbled. I h...
