These Things Shall Give You Experience...
Hey y'all!
Transfers were this week! The Quincy Squad has officially been separated. Elder McCain headed off to open a new town in the middle of nowhere, and Elder May went to Cedar Rapids to be the zone leader in that area. Elder Mitchell stayed, and is training a new Zone Leader, Elder Jacobson. And I am also staying, AND AM TRAINING!!!!!!!! I'm honestly more overwhelmed than I think I've ever been. President Badger is an incredible man, but he's also crazy enough to have myself, and four others who just finished being trained, turnaround train. So that's that.
So, to prepare for the demise of the squad, we partied it up! I went on exchanges with both Zone Leaders, and had some rockin good lessons. It was a good couple days.
Wednesday we got to go to Nauvoo again, I love that place. It was a crazy day afterwords though, as we got everything packed and cleaned.
Then on Thursday, we got up at the unholy hour of 4 in the morning, to drive to Iowa City to get there in time for my New Trainers meeting. I've never been so nervous in my life. The whole meeting, all I could think about was the new missionary on his way to meet his trainer, who is still figuring some things out himself. The moment of truth arrived, and I was assigned my boy, Elder Hutchings! He's a really great kid, and a good missionary. He hails from Hurricane Utah, so we totally relate in our love of the desert. The first few days were really stressful, but I think we're starting to get in the swing of things. I can't wait till we can be comfortable enough together that I can relax a bit.
We had a lot of success the first few days though, despite the stress. The very first people he talked to were willing to listen, and are now investigators. We also met Alicia, who felt pretty solid, and I can't wait for her to come to church.
Sunday was crazy, taking over the area, and not having Elder McCain there to help me get things done. Jeri came to church again! Things are looking great with her, hopefully she'll keep progressing, and we plan on her baptism in mid-November. Rachel and Kevin didn't make it this week, which blows. But their wedding is this week, so hopefully they'll keep making church a priority after that.
This week has been full of miracles! I've definitely felt God guiding me and supporting me in this craziness. I love missionary work.
My poem this week was very emotionally motivated, so I hope you all can understand its flow.
~~~
Inadequate,
Gasping, Grasping,
Overwhelmed by fear.
I wonder why He sent me here.
I feel this burden,
Crushing down.
I cry in prayer,
But make no sound
Yet in the quiet,
Bleak, but calm,
A gentle feeling wraps around,
A peaceful message,
Soft and clear,
Humble, Hopeful,
"I Am Here"
~~~
Love y'all, Godspeed!

And some random photos that other mom's shared on Facebook. Some are similar to others in previous posts, but I figured, oh well.
