Um... I don't have an Uncle Grawe...
I LOVE CONFERENCE!!!
Oh my goodness, conference at home is great, but conference out here is literally Christmas. So happy.
But as for the week, it was honestly SO long. I can't believe it's only been a week.
First off, we had interviews on Tuesday, which was great! I love President and Sister Badger so much! That whole day was honestly so fun. We spend a lot of effort preparing the interview rooms, and Elder May decided that we needed to give Sister Badger a Beach.... In the church. Pics are attached. And we did clean it so well, that none of the young women had any clue there was that much sand in their room that week. Success.
To make interviews even better, we all went to TCBY afterwords, and President Badger successfully ate a quart of ice cream! Before the challenge, he said that this was more daunting then running 100 miles (he runs ultra-marathons). What a great day!
The rest of the week was pretty normal. Went on an exchange with Elder Mitchell on Wednesday evening, while Elder May and McCain were teaching Rachel at a member's house. She's insane. She totally gets the Plan of Salvation, and basically considers herself a member already. I don't even know what to do with her.
Thursday was a pretty normal day, but we did get to eat dinner with the Seaman's, whom I love with every ounce of my being. Oh my goodness. I want my family to be just like them. Then we went to teach a lesson to Richard, who is also awesome, and he fed us again. He's super cool, and knows everything, but he's been in jail, which poses some issues. Should be interesting.
Friday was a crazy day! I got out of the shower, and Elder McCain informed me that my Uncle Grawe had called and wanted to take us to lunch and do some missionary work. I promptly replied, "Um... I don't have an Uncle Grawe..."
The panic that ensued was pretty comical, I'm sure. I eventually got up the courage to call him back and figure things out. Turns out that he knows my uncle from Wisconsin, though that got blurred in the communication process. We ended up meeting up with him, he fed us, and took us to meet some of his family and teach them. It was great!
Then it was conference, which was christmas. We got to go to the Bairs, Atwoods, and Seamans. I loved it so much! First and last sessions were my favorite. I loved President Nelson, President Eyring, Elder Bednar, and Elder Holland. They all gave such great talks. I'd encourage you all to study them in the coming weeks.
I'd also love to hear your favorite talks/quotes/or principles learned this weekend, if y'all would take a second to do that for me... ;)
Pictures and poems weren't on my mind this week, so there isn't much I can share now... I'll attach what I've got though.
-Bringing the decorations to the church for interviews
-Sister Badgers finished beach, complete with sandcastle
-My Jesus wall in my room. Trying to memorize the Living Christ.
Till next week!
Love,
Elder Housholder
